Value or Entitled

“Wives, submit yourselves to your own husbands as you do to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the Savior.”
‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭5:22-23‬

The word submit seems harsh and rude to some people as they should not submit to anyone. They might think this is what soldiers or workers do to kings or leaders back in historical days. They might also seem like it is a power control move that the husband is charge. Also in some ways men might take it to the point as owning their wife or treating them like property.

If you look at this from a true biblical stand point it actually makes a lot of sense and brings a balance into the marriage or relationship. If the husband truly respects their wife and treats her like Jesus treated the church, then why wouldn’t the wife want to submit to her husband.

We are not talking about a chore list, a maid, or basically a babysitter. We are talking about a true partnership where there is a balance to ensure both the husband and wife are treated as equals because they are ONE now.

A lot of people take this out of context and abuse the language for their benefit, whether it is for power, self-control, or jealousy. As the man they may feel they are the king of the house and they deserve to be served by their wife. This could not be more further from the truth because it clearly say Husbands treat your Wives like the Church. Remember the church is People!

As a society we have to get back to the basic principles of living a faithful life filled with humility. If we act like Jesus then our wives would never have an issue submitting to us as husbands because they would feel respected, honored, loved, and valued. When all these things are happening wives fall more deeply in love with their husbands. All comes down to Respect!
